Long awaited update!

Sun Dec 20, 2009, 9:12 AM
Hmmm, where to begin?

I'll start with school. School is very boring. Moreso recently. Although some of my cohorts have shown an interest in programming recently, so I have started to teach them the basics. They are doing well, but in my opinion, not well enough for the course they want to take at Hertford Regional with me. Which is a shame, because I would've liked a travel buddy if I get in. Otherwise, nothing is going on.

Artistically, I'm doing excellent. I have recently been commissioned for and XNA remake of "Bust A Move" in which I will be providing all the artwork. It's going great, and although I would've liked to have done it in 3D, I'm just not good enough to do any of my decent art in the small time frame provided-luckily this programmer really digs my cartoony style that I have been mouse-drawing in flash for years now. Not only is this a great chance to be more of a known figure in the XNA community, it is my first payed job! Hopefully this is the start of even better things to come,as the programmer has expressed an interest in forming a dev team with me and some others!!!! As a result of which, my short-lived 3D career has been postponed until my workload is freed, which is a shame considering I've had some good reception with the 3D work...

Now for my programming. To add to my coding resume, I have recently been dabbling in C sharp, which has proven quite easy as it is basically a combination of Actionscripts 2 and 3, and Visual basic, which is where all of my prior knowledge of scripting lies anyway! As stated earlier, I really want to get in to Hertford Regional College to do the very appealing Software and Game development course they run, so I have been trying hard to build an even stronger foundation in programming recently.

I haven't done much musically as of recent-this [link] being my latest composition. Once I've finished doing all my important stuff, you can expect to hear from me again, so don't fret.

I have been teaching myself kung-fu for 8 months now. It's going well. Also, Barefoot Gen is the saddest manga EVER.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else to say, so...

Birthday in 8 days!!!! Getting a new guitar and an Xbox 360-toward both I am contributing.I'm really happy about this, as Nintendo developers sre really losing focus on the games I like. Namely, GOOD GAMES. I hate to say it, but everyone seems to develop for 360 or PS3 these days. I have not lost any respect for Nintendo, but seeing as no-one is willing to give the wii a chance, I'ma have to sell out...

Update

Fri Jun 26, 2009, 12:57 AM
Ok.

Starting Monday, my 2 weeks work experience commences-1 week at 3 Darths Comics and collectables and the other week at Graphic Nature recording studio in Hertford. I really can't wait!!! I have been let down by so many employers over work experience over the last few months-to have the best 2 out of all of them say yes is such a great relief.

I'm rapidly improving in the art/animation field, as I learn new techniques most every day. That doesn't mean to say my art will be any better these days, it just means that it might be. That also doesn't mean that I'll be animating anything full length anytime soon.

I'm getting more requests as of recent, which makes me happy, as that means I am getting noticed. So yes I'm still taking commissions.

Boris is coming along smoothly, with most to all bugs found in the alpha being fixed. We'll be debugging as we go, as I imagine the relief of finishing followed by the discovery of a major flaw will just be so dissapointing that we won't bother fixing it.

I have recently obtained LoZ: Wind Waker-and I am loving it.

Oooh and if you get the chance, watch this video. [link]
It made me cry, and I don't cry.
